Let me start this story by saying that water penetration is a very bad thing. This all started with the area around the chimney not having proper water diversion (cricket). We also found gaps where the chimney meets the house. Home inspector noted that he saw bees entering the house where the gaps were. We came in and tore out the rotted wood inside on second floor.
You can see the gaps in this picture. Then we tore out the sill plate (bottom board in next picture) and found something very interesting.

This is the rotten area around the chimney that we found after we inspected for leaks. This leak caused alot of damage inside the home that had to be repaired. We tore out the rotted wood and replaced with treated wood. We also added a cricket, proper flashing, tar paper and shingles to insure that there would be no future issues.

We built this wheelchair ramp for a veteran in Spencer, TN. He is very happy now that he can get out of his home with ease. The VA paid for this in full. If you know anyone that might have the need for this type of work we are VA approved and will be glad to give them a quote.
